We are so excited to show you our new venue!
But it’s a bittersweet goodbye to our home for almost 30 years; the former Glebe School. As many of our families may know, The Glebe School, which ran for over 50 years unfortunately closed its doors last year, kindly donating a lot of their toys and resources to us. St Peter’s Church, who owns the building therefore offered us the Glebe’s room to use, allowing us to expand our client list and volunteers from the small church room downstairs. However, due to the building’s age and the Glebe Pre-School no longer being there to heat and look after the building, unfortunately the building has started to deteriorate beyond feasible repair. St Peter’s Church have had to make the decision to close the upstairs of the building indefinitely due to safety concerns, prompting us to start looking for a new venue.
Ray, our founder and Chair, quickly approached Riverside Church, where he attends for the monthly breakfast club, in hopes to use their room. We were delighted to be offered the use of their huge “Warehouse” building, complete with a soft play area, a small kitchen area, toilets and its own enclosed garden! We are already packing and moving our toys and resources over to the Warehouse, and our first official session at the Warehouse will be on the 1st of February, 2025.
The Team at Burton on Trent Child Contact Centre would like to say thanks to St Peter’s Church and The Glebe Preschool for being our home for almost 30 years, and thank you so much to the Riverside Church for welcoming us with open arms to continue our essential service and to celebrate our 30th year running!
Check out some photos of the new venue before we officially move.
See you there!
